Tanya Strusberg is the founder and director of Israel Arts Management. She was born and raised in Hong Kong where she studied film, television and broadcasting at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She worked for several years as a freelance film dubber and voice-over artist, and was an original member of the all-female professional theatre ensemble, Agitprop. In 1994, she created a theatrical adaptation of Talking It Over by celebrated British author Julian Barnes. She also directed and produced its successful premiere production at the Hong Kong International Fringe Festival.

Tanya has worked for many of Australia's major arts organisations including the Victorian Arts Centre, the Melbourne International Festival of the Arts, Multicultural Arts Victoria, Company in Space and Neil Armfield's acclaimed Company B Belvoir St Theatre, Sydney. In 1999, she was the recipient of an arts management residency grant from the Australia Council and the Asialink Foundation to work with the Singapore International Arts Festival.

In 2003, Tanya traveled to Israel for the first time to participate in the arts program at the WUJS Institute, Arad, as a writer-in-residence.  In 2006, she was the director of the inaugural Sydney Jewish Writers' Festival which brought together some 50 writers from across Australia and internationally. She returned to Israel permanently in December 2006 and lives with her husband Doron and their two children, Liev and Amalia in Jerusalem.
